Butler Arms Hotel Waterville - History
There is no hotel in Ireland more steeped in family history and tradition than the Butler Arms Hotel Waterville and indeed, the Huggards developed what was probably Ireland's first family run hotel chain. That is to say that the hotels were owned and run by the family who treated those staying there more as friends than as guests and this tradition is still carried on today.
The spirit of Mary Huggard is still in our family, she was the pioneer of the Irish Hotel Industry, and no one can deny that. Mary Huggard's inspiration lives on to this day in all her family especially in Louise and Paula who currently run the Butler Arms Hotel Waterville - overlooking the Atlantic, and surrounded by some of the most spectacular scenery in Ireland.
